You Deserve Nothing but the Best Clams

Authenticity is exactly what it’s all about here at Maine Lobster Now. Why would you want it any other way? We are transparent about where we source all of our premium seafood options, and we take tremendous pride in our sustainability efforts to ensure the long-term population of our seafood. Not only does this help out the aquatic environment, but it also allows us to support thousands of independently owned businesses and fishermen (and women) throughout Maine.

Basically, what we are saying is that when you order genuine seafood products from Maine Lobster Now, you are also supporting the environment and thousands of hard-working individuals and businesses throughout Maine. Now, that’s a win-win situation!

The Ultimate Appetizer Experience

Let’s face it: there is not a better seafood appetizer (or side dish) out there to accompany your main course than authentic-from-Maine clams. They are the perfect side-kick to your Live Lobsters, Lobster Tails, Crab Legs, Lobster Rolls, and more. Not only that, but they can be absolutely show-stopping on their own when these clams are incorporated into pasta dishes, soups and stews. If you are wondering how many clams to serve, we recommend about 1/2 pound per person (appetizer) or approximately 1 pound per person (main). Here are some easy recipe ideas for each type of clam we carry at Maine Lobster Now.

Gulf of Maine Steamer Clams:

Otherwise known as Ipswich Steamer Clams, these soft-shell clams are tender, sweet and perfect for dipping into melted butter alongside your Maine Lobster Dinner.

Maine Littleneck Clams:

This salty, chewy clam is used as the clam of choice in most recipes, including soups, stews, and pasta dishes. They even make a wonderful cocktail appetizer served on the half-shell with melted butter.

You Deserve Nothing but the Best Clams

Our local clams come right from the Gulf of Maine. We have local littleneck clams, which is a hard-shell clam. You can enjoy this cooked in pasta or raw.

Our top seller by far is the Maine steamer clam. This is a mud clam that comes from the Gulf of Maine as well. These are purged for 24-48 hours to remove all sand, grit, and mud from their bellies so you can enjoy every bite.

We work closely with harvesters to ensure that we have the freshest clams on hand just for you. We adhere to all HACCP guidelines for clam storage, sanitation, and we have set procedures to prevent cross contamination from other allergens. Every clam from Maine Lobster Now is the purest, local, clams you expect....just like when you visit.
