Atlantic cod and black cod are different fish

Icelandic Atlantic cod loin

Wild-Caught Icelandic Cod Loin is a skinless, boneless 16–20 oz. cut with a mild flavor and firm, flaky texture. It is sustainably sourced, nitrogen-frozen and supplied frozen. Divide the loin to suit your meal, then bake, grill or pan-cook as directed.

Pacific black cod, or sablefish

Black Cod (Sablefish) comes as a 1–1.25 lb. fillet with a rich, buttery flavor and soft, velvety texture. It is sustainably sourced and wild-caught around Alaska and British Columbia, then nitrogen-frozen and vacuum-sealed. It is not Atlantic cod.

Cod in a whitefish box

The Haddock & Cod Whitefish Box combines two 16–20 oz. cod loins with four 8–10 oz. haddock fillets and tartar sauce. Divide each cod loin into two to make eight suggested fish portions across the box.

Black cod paired with halibut

The Halibut & Black Cod Box pairs a 16–18 oz. North Atlantic halibut fillet with a 1–1.25 lb. sablefish fillet. It offers approximately four generous seafood servings for your own recipes, without side dishes or seasonings.

Choose the cut that fits your recipe

Atlantic cod works when you want a mild, flaky whitefish. Sablefish offers a richer flavor and softer texture, so select a recipe suited to that fish rather than assuming the two cuts cook identically. Compare the thickness and weight of the actual piece before dividing it into portions.

Both standalone fish options described here are raw and supplied frozen. Follow the product's packaging, refrigerator-thawing and cooking instructions. Check the current label for ingredients and handling details. Delivery availability and charges are shown at checkout; add your own sides and recipe ingredients.
