Sustainably Sourced Alaskan Bairdi

Our Bairdi snow crab is sustainably sourced and wild-caught in Alaska’s Bering Sea. Alaska’s Tanner crab fishery uses harvest limits informed by stock assessments, regulated seasons, minimum sizes and male-only harvest to support reproduction and long-term harvest.

Serve chilled after refrigerator thawing or gently reheat using the product’s preparation directions. Follow the package instructions for storage and handling.

Our Bairdi snow crab (Chionoecetes bairdi), also known as Tanner crab, is wild-caught in Alaska’s Bering Sea and sustainably sourced. Alaska’s Tanner crab fishery is managed with stock-based harvest limits, regulated seasons, minimum size requirements and male-only harvest. These clusters are supplied fully cooked and frozen.

What’s a Serving Size for Bairdi Leg Clusters?

When you order Bairdi Crab Leg Clusters, please note the weight includes both the hard exoskeleton and the meat inside. On average, a snow crab yields about 50% meat to 50% shell. So each Bairdi crab leg cluster provides 6-7 oz. of meat, more than the recommended serving size of 5 oz.

Our Bairdi crab leg clusters give you more meat for the money. You get a full serving and still maybe have some for leftovers, which you can use to make your own crab cakes. You can also add classic seafood side dishes to your crab order. We offer all the necessary kitchen supplies, like lemon, butter, and cocktail sauce, and delicious sides like corn on the cob to pair with your crab legs. And really bring all the flavors of Maine home by adding Labadie's Bakery Original Maine Whoopie Pie for dessert.

Snow crab is a great source of lean protein, which supports muscle growth and tissue repair while being low in fat. It is rich in essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin B12, zinc, and selenium, which promote a healthy immune system and cognitive function. Additionally, snow crab contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health and reducing inflammation.

Preparing Snow Crab Is Easy

We’re here to help perfectly cook your snow crab leg clusters, even if this is your first time ordering them.
Bairdi Crab Leg Clusters are already fully cooked by professional fishermen as soon as they are landed at the dock. Once thawed, you can eat the crab meat straight out of the leg and body portion.
Heating Bairdi crab is easy and fast. To boil:

Fill a large pot with water. Bring to boil.
Add Bairdi crab leg clusters. Turn heat down to medium.

Boil for 4 minutes. If boiling more than 15 legs, cook for 8 minutes.

Remove crab from pot. Run under cold water to stop them from cooking further. Overheating or overcooking can ruin meat’s flavor and texture. Plate and enjoy!

You can also steam, grill, or bake snow crab leg clusters.
