Cooking Fresh Wild-Caught Swordfish

Swordfish is a versatile fish that can be prepared in numerous ways, including pan-seared, baked, broiled, or grilled. Use your preferred cooking method to cook swordfish to your desired flavor or use our instructions below to prepare.

Follow this simple swordfish recipe:

  • Rinse swordfish with cold water and pat dry. Place fish in glass baking dish. Combine 1 cup olive oil, 3-4 Tbs. lemon juice, and 1 tsp. salt & pepper in a bowl. Whisk until blended then pour over fish.
  • Cover baking dish with plastic wrap and let marinate in refrigerator for 30-120 minutes. Turn over halfway through.
  • When marinated, heat grill to high with rack positioned 3-4 inches from heat. Brush rack with olive oil and place swordfish on grill.
  • Grill for 2 minutes. Turn fish 45 degrees to create crosshatch grill marks. Grill 2 additional minutes then turn over. Grill 3 more minutes.
  • If knife enters the flesh with no resistance, your swordfish is done.
